The canteen at St Columbkille's is open for recess and lunch three days a week – Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (closed Mondays and Tuesdays).

The school environment, including the canteen, is an ideal setting to educate our students about healthy food choices and physical activities. The school canteen is an extension of the school by supporting the work of staff and parents in teaching students about healthy food choices – for example, Crunch & Sip.

Our canteen aims are to:

• provide an enjoyable, nutritious and attractively presented selection of foods and drinks at reasonable prices that meet the 'Fresh Tastes ' guidelines; and 
• demonstrate a high standard of hygiene in relation to the preparation, storage and serving of food at the canteen.

The canteen is often the first setting where a child practises money and negotiating purchasing skills. Students are encouraged to use this facility and are welcomed and assisted in making the canteen an enjoyable experience.

The canteen menu is revised annually, and a new price list is sent home at the beginning of each year. The canteen endeavours to keep prices reasonable and affordable. Please check newsletters for the updated menu as well as other important canteen information.
